THE 7 DUMBEST WAYS OUR BRAINS SCREWS US OVER
AND HOW TO WIN BECAUSE OF IT
grew up on a small family farm in the middle of nowhere (awesome family) - lots of sports (football, swimming, motocross, handball, parkour, others) - built stuff in our workshop - liked business, so decided to break family tradition and go HHX (The Higher Commercial Examination Programme) - liked tech, heard San Francisco was the world capital, so started bachelor at University of San Francisco - decided the cost of living and studying in SF was too high compared to opportunities gained, so dropped out - moved back home to the farm, what now? - Sales is cool! Moved to Copenhagen to work in a real sales pit. Sell me this pen type shit (moved into my uncle’s basement to make this work) - Yes, finally got a place! Moved into a collective in the middle of Copenhagen (I later met my girlfriend here) - Sales pit job acted unethically, so I quit - shit, now I’m in Copenhagen with rent to pay, no job, and no plan - Got into a competitive digital management bachelor at Copenhagen Business School, so that’s cool - worked at a gas station (horrible for the soul, but free pigs in a blanket and pizza, if you think the rules about throwing them out are stupid) - This new school is cool, let’s do free internships to get experience - internships in blockchain and tech conference businesses. Pretty cool, but they don’t value me or my time at all - Got into high-ticket B2B sales at VAEKST, super cool colleagues and development -
But I put my name in the Novo Nordisk talent pipeline a while back, and now they call about different opportunities, so I took an internship in their Quality Assurance department, nice salary and fun tasks - got together with my girlfriend (best thing in my life) - bought an apartment with my sister, where I moved to (still in Copenhagen) - internship over - focus on playing with projects and developing my skills (AI is cool, huh) - got offered exchange spot at a cool university in England... what should I do, is this a better opportunity than I can create for myself in Copenhagen?... turned it down, now I can stay in CPH with my GF - Shit, just got offered internship at Innovation Center Denmark in Boston, USA... hard choice... too good, let’s do it - ...to be continued
I'm always open to discussing new projects and ideas
